How buying a firearm works for Ontario residents
Because we are a California dealer, Ontario customers complete the whole purchase with us in San Dimas. Plan on two short trips:
- Visit 1: choose your firearm (or order it online first), show your Firearm Safety Certificate and ID, and start your DROS background check. Bring proof of residency for a handgun.
- Visit 2: at least 10 days later, complete the safe handling demonstration and take it home.
Ammunition works differently in California: order online or in person and pick it up at the store after the state eligibility check. Bought a firearm somewhere else? We handle local transfers too. Full details are on our California Buyers page.
