Welcome to Iron Oak Armory, and welcome to the Journal. Before we start posting buying guides and new arrivals, we want to tell you who we are, what we do, and why we opened our doors.
Who we are
Iron Oak Armory is a licensed firearms dealer based in California, shipping to customers across the country. We sell fine guns, ammunition, and outdoor gear, and we help every customer through each step of buying them legally, whatever state they call home.
Our customers range from people buying their first handgun for home defense to hunters who have been in the field for decades. Some know exactly what they want. Others walk in with a dozen questions. Both are welcome here, and both deserve the same patience and straight answers.
What we do
- Firearms. Handguns, rifles, and shotguns from makers we trust, for carry, home defense, hunting, and the range.
- Ammunition. Handgun, rifle, and shotgun ammunition, shipped to your door wherever state and local law allow.
- Nationwide shipping. Firearms ship to the licensed dealer you choose near you, and ammunition and gear ship to your door where the law allows. Local customers can also have firearms bought elsewhere transferred through our store.
- Outdoor gear. Optics, cases, cleaning supplies, and the gear that goes with you to the range and into the field.
- Guidance. Dealer transfers, background checks, state permits, waiting periods, and the rules that change from one state to the next. We walk you through all of it before you buy, not after.
Why we do it
Buying a firearm is not as simple as picking one off the shelf, and buying one online adds another layer. There are dealer transfers, background checks, state permits, waiting periods, and rules that change from state to state, sometimes from one court ruling to the next. We know that firsthand: we are based in California, which has some of the strictest rules in the country. For a lot of people, that process feels intimidating. We think it should not be.
We opened Iron Oak Armory to be the kind of shop we wanted to walk into ourselves: one that treats the right to own a firearm with respect, takes the responsibility that comes with it seriously, and never makes a customer feel rushed or talked down to. We would rather spend twenty minutes helping you choose the right firearm than five minutes selling you the wrong one.
We also believe in doing things the right way. Every sale follows federal, state, and local law, every transfer is handled carefully, and if we do not know the answer to a question, we will find it instead of guessing.

Why “Iron Oak”
Iron stands for the craft: well-made firearms, honest work, and things built to last. The oak stands for roots: the hunting, shooting, and outdoor traditions passed from one generation to the next, and the long-term relationships we want to build with the people who shop here. You will see both in our logo, an oak growing inside an iron “I.”
